DESCRIPTION
Sliding Hero is a top-down puzzle Metroidvania where you slide in a single direction until hitting an obstacle. Trapped in a sinister 1700s Venetian villa, explore a world inspired by Venice’s carnival that will test your wits to overcome challenges, uncover secrets, and unmask your destiny.
UNIQUENESS
- The movement system applied to the Metroidvania structure of the game’s world creates a unique traversal experience and transforms each room and zone into a tiny maze.
- The movement is fast, and the controls are quick: if one wanted to dare, they could probably find a way to speedrun the game (and get rewarded for it).
ACHIEVEMENTS
- In 2023 Sliding Hero got selected for the Bologna Game Farm acceleration program;
- In July Sliding Hero was selected as part of the PixElated Festival on Steam;
- The demo was covered by Rock Paper Shotgun and Eurogamer;
- In September the title was featured in both the SIx One Indie Winter Showcase and the Convergence Showcase;
- At the end of November, Sliding Hero will be part of the Milano Games Week’s indie selection.
ABOUT THE TEAM
The Studio
Silent Chicken is currently a duo, of Paolo Zito and Gianmarco Veronesi.
Both worked together for several years in the same advertising agency (the first as a Copywriter/Project Manager, the second as an illustrator and art director). After Paolo became a freelance, they started working on their first commercial game.
Other than the advertising and creative background, Paolo has been a Unity self-taught programmer since 2019. Thanks to the Bologna Game Farm, Silent Chicken expanded their network of collaborators, filling all the positions needed to bring Sliding Hero to life.
The Game Hub
Bologna Game Farm was an amazing experience, that gave us all the means (money, contacts, events, lessons) to make the game we envisioned. All the working connections and relationships we built during the 6 months program were crucial to steering Sliding Hero in the right direction and creating a solid path to fund a development studio.
